Welcome to Cafe Tiesan, a little gem situated on Harrington Street near the junction with Camden Street in the hip Portobello district of Dublin. Early birds will be familiar with the siren scent of baking pastries and the best of Irish Breakfasts tempting them as they walk by, and the coffee is to die for; acclaimed by The Dubliner as the 'most exceptional in the city'. Hardly surprising given the resident chef and co-owner is Brazilian and abides by the proverb from his homeland that coffee should be 'as strong as the devil, as hot as hell and as sweet as love'.
Tiesan offers Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and an early Evening Aperitivo Menu. The Cafe is licenced and we sell wine by the glass as well as by the bottle. Tiesan is open seven days; Monday to Wednesday 8am to 5pm, Thursday and Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday & Sunday from 10am until 5pm.
This boutique Cafe is a design classic, and a great space to linger over a newspaper or simply appreciate the rotating art work and photography: we support up-and-coming artists by providing free exhibition space and literary evenings.
Interestingly, in the 1930s the premises was a Macaris ice cream parlor. Times and tastes have changed but it seems fitting that Tiesan should continue a tradition of providing luxurious refreshment to the Dublin public.
